Everyone in the crowd, the food vendors, the ticket takers, the security guards, absolutely everyone at JazzMania '97 sat in awe as Richard Elliot performed a new song in rememberence of his swim with the dolphins in the Florida Keys. Sounds that have never been heard from a Sax before, and then played with such a unique and interesting tune gave everyone visions of the ocean, dophins, whales, and birds. This was by far one of the most memoriable events of the entire two day festival.
Richard Elliot has 9 solo records to date with the 10th in the works as we speak. His latest CD is called City Speak.
Richard's prolific career has now spaned 20 years. From his early days as a top session player to headlining solo recording artist, Richard Elliot's music and playing has stood the test of time.
Richard Elliot was fantastic. He closed up JazzMania '97 in a way that many are already looking forward to JazzMania '98!
